archer75
I'm thinking of using OSX for a small file server. What sort of options does it have that will allow me to pool several hard drives together and provide redundency? Software Updater
RAID and TimeMachine auto backup. Those are the basics, then add File Sharing. archer75
RAID and TimeMachine auto backup. Those are the basics, then add File Sharing. I was hoping to do something with parity. OSX seems to do RAID1 at best. And I have terabytes of data and need to maximize drive space. Is there any RAID5 functionality in OSX? I haven't seen anything like that under Disk Utility. Software Updater
I dont know but what do you do that requires serving terabytes of data? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181327-using-osx-as-a-file-server/#findComment-1233982 Share on other sites
archer75
I dont know but what do you do that requires serving terabytes of data? I store all my movies on a server and stream them to my HTPC. My other misc data such as home movies, photos and music don't take up that much space.
