xsenon
Hi there! I know, that PPC applications do work in the Rosetta Emulation and therefore they are not the fastest. But on my machine, every PPC application (for example Thunderbird) runs so incredibly slowly, that i am wondering if SSE3 is enabled. I installed the MYZ DVD. Do i have to patch anything to make my Hackintosh use the SSE3? xsenon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18128-is-the-mac-os-x-dvd-working-with-sse3-or-sse2/ Share on other sites

Sabr
Hmm, well, I used the Myzar DVD and everything went alright for me. It should be using SSE3... If it's only PPC apps that are the problem, then it's gotta be something to do with rosetta...? westep23
Did you install the 10.4.4_SSE3 Kernel Package. Also I think Rosetta is dog slow for everyone. From what I've seen on benchmarks. Are Celeron D's Probley make it worst. xsenon
Hi guys! Thank you for the response so far. I donwloaded the ISO "Mac OS X 10.4.4/5 osx86 Patched Bootable DVD". I was curios, if the the DVD supports SSE2 and so i checked the torrent Site. Obviosly this is not the MYZ Image. So i have to correct myself in this matter. In the descritption it says : " ISO-Installimage of 10.4.4. Actually, you can customize your installation, so you can choose, whether the 10.4.5 update should be installed. And there, you choose the patches you need. Patches for Intel, AMD, SSE2 and SSE3 are provided, like in the title. " I am afraid, i installed the SSE2 Patch. Is there a way to find this out? xsenon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18128-is-the-mac-os-x-dvd-working-with-sse3-or-sse2/#findComment-119419 Share on other sites
