I tried to install with IPC 10.5.1, Kalway 10.5.2, Iatkos v7, Ideneb 1.6. Lite Edition. Only Kalway DVD was booting to the installer for the others i needed to type in -v -f busratio=21 cpus=1 to make them boote the installer and not to reboot. I had success with IPC but only 1 cpu and no graphics, no sound, no networt etc. With the other distros i had this ***head cluster...buffer IO***problem until i installed with ACPI fix which was only included in IPC and Ideneb1.6 the most of them just freeze when the apple logo comes after installation...here is the link to my computer :

Man its so complicated do i need the retail version ? how can i install it from the scratch because i have no os now installed to edit kexts and kernels etc... my knowledge is limited

dont know man im tired...i mean i thought that iatkos v7 is going to make it happen i am disappointed...

You'll need to learn to make it. Why it is iAtkos7? One could try some other distros. I've tried many different before managed to install. I have used the mighty Google to help me :)

You have i7 CPU, so the most recent distro is needed. In this particulare case you gonna need an official OS X Leopard Install disk (the one you could buy in any Apple store). So get it, than read out several times the tutorial (the last link). It's not so complicated, as it may look first. Just be patient and study the guide. It is written for everyone to understand.

Good luck!

Ok now i have installed Ideneb 1.6 Lite with Mac Os 10.5.8 (incl. Comboupdate). Everything is working even the i7 core is shown in the "about this mac", QE/QL supported etc. But i can just load with 1 CPU ! The restart takes a little bit more time than the before but I want to have my 8 cores...How can I manage it ? When I boot without "CPU=1" then after the apple logo loads there appears a window which forces me to restart the computer in a few languages...

When I enter -v -x -f....etc. I get these Messages either "system uptime in nanoseconds 8031097 or system uptime in nanoseconds 761928954.

Maybe its just a wrong driver, kext file i need to uninstall or to replace, how can i find out ?

Retail DVD method is not possible for because i just have 1 disk and i need at least 2 because the patcher needs to unmount the drives to complete the installation progress so ijust installed the kext files of the patcher for my intel x58 but i dont know if i did it right and maybe i have to delete the previous once ?!? So any suggestions ? The point is that i need my 8 cores and i cant use the retail dvd method...i think there is a problem with all the drivers...any help out there ?

if i enter sysctl machdep.cpu.logical-per-package it says 16...just wanna add this info so where are the pros ?
