KiD KuN Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 Hey Guys i just have a bit of confusion about the chameleone bootloader, I have installed Retail leopard and it has the hidden 200MB EFI partition. Now my question is that can the new chameleone bootloader be installed to the partition so that i have a COMPLETELY vanilla install? so i can update like a real mac. IF yes can some one pls give me the steps to do this? Thanks alot in advance! Additional none vanilla and Legacy kexts will go in Extra/Extensions on EFI. Any patched Vanilla kexts you may need for your install will still have to go to /System/Library/Extensions. Jus another question, what exactly are legacy kexts? and what do you mean by patched kexts?(Can you give me and example of a legacy kext and a patched kext?) Another thing is that would the following kexts go to Extra/Extensions? (NVDANV10Hal.kext,NVDANV20Hal.kext,NVDANV13Hal.kext,NVDANV40Hal.kext,NVDANV50Hal .kext,geforce.kext)?? and then i have AppleAHCIPort.kext,IOAHCIFamily.kext,IOGraphicsFamily.kext....would these go to Extra/Extensions or would they go to s/l/e? and since am in 10.5 if i want to install combo update to 10.5.8 all i do is backup extensions(with the non vanilla kexts too) using OSx86 tools install update and restore rite? Sorry to ask so many questions! confused!
