Hello All,

My PC will go to sleep mode, but upon waking from sleep mode, the monitor won't show anything. I also pinged my ip address with no reply from a remote computer.

I fiddled with the bios a little bit. Basically the motherboard can be set to either go to S1 or S3 states after receiving a sleep call from ACPI. With S1 state enabled, sleep / wake works perfect, however when S3 is on, after putting computer to sleep mode, it will not wake up, and I have to reset the box.

My motherboard is a i945GNT and it worked perfectly (the sleep) before installing JaS's 10.4.6.

What might it be stopping it from waking up properly?

Cheers,

-Cambazz

lots have this problem

hitting keys wont wake mine up, but pressing the power the drive spins but it wont turn on

I've not found a fix for this yet, one of the last 2 things not working on mine (other is 9200 sigmatel)

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode X

For example 1 it now works like if I were suspended the computer, if I use 2 it works like a shut down

Try changing different numbers for X

after pressing the power key to resume from sleep my screen will come back on and show the last things i had on it but then a little blue rectangle appaers where the small apple logo is at the top left corner and the system hangs there......basically ive come to a conclution.....disable sleep and never close the lid cos then it sleeps n e way......btw i have an Intel 915GM

Have you tryed flashing with latest bios?

there is only one bios out for the 1405, and it's the original A01, the laptop is a new model and has only been out 1 month

there are 6 different acpi modes, I tried all of those, not sure what they even do, there's no documentation on them

Using D945GCZ desktop I also had no problem with sleep/restore in 10.4.4 but after updating to 10.4.6 plus adding USB Bluetooth adapter I lost this future: after restore black screen and no responce.

Then I found a solution: you need to delete folowing files with preferences that might be corrupt:

/Users/Your Name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist (if you have Bluetooth)

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.AutoWake.plist

and may be

/Users/Your Name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist

after restart these files will be created again by system with defaults so you need to set again your preferences for Energy Saver.

Hope it will help.

nada, same result

only one file is auto recreated

/Users/Your Name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist

it half way wakes up, the power light goes from sleep to on, but the computer never powers up all the way

the only power management options I get in the bios are, c-state from off to C4, default is C4, it controls the CMP CPU ACPI C state transitions, whatever those are
