Maltram
Hey guys, first of all im sorry if this is the wrong part of the board, but i found no place that seemed to fit. I also used the search function but i did not give me any useful information. I would like to know, how to get a Mac OS X 10.5.7 or higher on my VMWare, running on a Win 7 pc. I need it to work with the IPhone SDK from Apple, which requires 10.5.7. I only found full installed systems up to version 10.5.5, so my first idea was to simply install the updates from the apple hp and have fun. at the end vm said that my cpu would have been freezing and everything was broken. my first question is: is it possible to use this updates, and something simpl went wrong, or is this a mistake? another idea was to manually install it on a VM and read several guides, tried a bit and failed, i could try some more, but i would prefer a "simple" solution, like a link to a full installed system via PN. (I know, im lazy, but i spent really a lot of time to get it done by my own.) pls dont look at my english too close, its not my first language greetings, Maltram Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180521-mac-os-x-1057-or-higher-in-vmware/ Share on other sites

picmax
You should be able to boot retail Leopard or iatkos 10.5.7 in vmware player and run the install. Upgrading to 10.5.8 works for me afterward. You don't need a real 10.5.7 to run the iphone sdk. You just need to edit the file version.plist to fake a 10.5.7 and the sdk will install. Donk
just a short answer, i will reply after school Oo 1. Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @2.33 Ghz 2. Windows 7 Ultimate RC 7100 3. 6.5.0 build-118166 Well my instructions should work. Your CPU is VT-x enabled but make sure it is enabled in the BIOS as needed for Leopard to run. Also I would get 6.5.3 of Workstation. Note that NAT networking does not work on Windows 7 with Workstation 6.5. You would need to get on the Workstation 7 beta program to fix that. Greetings, Maltram Edit 2: I ruined another VM_system by tring to install the updates via the aplle software updater.... i havent found any version.plist on the mac, where can i find ? sry for all the wquestions, but it is really hard for me to get into the whole stuff :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180521-mac-os-x-1057-or-higher-in-vmware/#findComment-1229927 Share on other sites
cFoo
From experience, I suggest you build a dedicated box just for OSX. This will save you both time and money. Initially I went down the same path that you are trying right now. It took a couple of days to get it working, then other problems began to popup. VMWARE is not perfect. The time you're wasting trying to get a vmware image working is better off coding your project. Save yourself future headaches. Spend $300-500 for a box with Gigabyte board + nVidia card. You can either remote desktop into OSX or get a switch for your monitor and keyboard. HBP
can u give me some names? look in the Wiki, for working systems. from the Wiki, here is my Recommendation. MSI U100 Wiki Page Good luck with your Project, I have found that after running OS X for about 3 years now on a hack I would not go back to windows. (I support windows @ work and it's nice to have something that works at home) I found that it was easier to build a hack then drop 5 grand on a mac pro. (if Apple opened up there lower line to upgrades and expansion I would not have my Hack.) also Fusion (vmware for mac works great to run windows if you MUST have it) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180521-mac-os-x-1057-or-higher-in-vmware/#findComment-1231153 Share on other sites
