Hi Everyone, I'm hitting a strange problem with my iAtkos 7 setup. I installed it onto my Gigabyte EP35-DS3R and everything works great. I plugged in my USB hard disk to the machine after setup and it detects and mounts perfectly.

I then upgraded the machine to 10.5.8 and restored my extensions. After I did this, I noticed something strange. If I plug in the USB hard disk to the machine, it no longer auto mounts. It detects the device and even the hard disk model in System Profiler. But the partitions do not appear at all.

However my USB mouse and keyboard works perfectly and hence, I decided to attach the USB hard disk to the machine before OSX booted. In this instance, it detected the hard disk succesfully and even mounted properly. I can eject the USB hard disk yank out the cable and put it back in, and it remounts succesfully.

I did a search in the forum to see if anyone encountered something similar and found a number of USB related threads. But was wondering if anyone encountered something similar to this behaviour before? Really appreciate if someone could give me some pointers to help resolve this issue? Thanks in advance everyone :D

P.S: I noticed then when I plug in my iPhone to the machine, it detects it as an iPhone but notes (Device not initialized) or something to that effect.

i have the EXACT same problem... i'm using iPC

have you found a way to fix it?

maybe we did a mistake with restoring the extensions?

if someone zipped and uploaded their 10.5.8 extensions, maybe we could fix this...

come on guys... please zip your extensions folder and upload them to rapidshare

thx

Nevermind,

I find it out by myself. Thanks anyway

All you need is the 2 files IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext and the IOUSBFamily.kext from the 10.5.8 update, use Kext helper to install them, restarted and it worked perfectly .. thanks for the hint.

Would anyone be kind enough to upload those kexts somewhere? It would take days for me to download the whole update file again.

Thx
