Nixwiz
Hello together today i had a very strange problem, which though quite experienced, i never came across bevor Might be a little bit to read, so bear with me please It all started when I copied my digicam Picts from one ntfs-formatted HD to another (mainly for sorting and rearranging), because i got my 1tb Seagate HD back from Data rescue, firmware issue, if you heared about it... During copying the maschine froze, and i had to restart After that i wanted to see, how far it went, when I noticed, that all picts on the origin drive where corrupted (half pict gray, color distortions, 2 half picts in one, etc..) I looked at the destination drive, and all what was copied, seemed ok. Puzzled about that, i took one folder with corrupted picts, and copied it to the new drive, and the result was .. ok!! Picts where just fine, whereas at the origin drive they still looked distorted So I rebooted under XP, and voala, all picts on the original disk were okay again. Back in OSX, same as before, still damaged picts. Starting up a virtuell XP, and the picts appear allright!!! I even changed SATA-Port with this drive, no change I am using Paragon NTFS 7.0.1 on Ideneb 1.5.1 (OSX 10.5.8), and Pathfinder 5.0.4 When i just uploaded one of the damaged picts, for you to see, no corruption in the resulting pict However, If looking the same Pic on this drive, the lower half is gray, as if it stopped loading HDs are all formated NTFS, problem drive is the Seagate ST31000340AS Anybody an idea? Hardware: Intel C2D 6300@3ghz, 8gb OCZ DDR2 800 Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 ( rev. 3.3 ) @ Firmware 12A Gainward GeForce 8800 GTS 320mb( G80 ) IDeneb 1.5.1 ( OSX 10.5.7 ) + XP Pro SP3 ( Chameleon 2.x ) Thx 4 any help!
