zzmojoezz
I got everything to install, see's my drive, installs, and it booted, has me type my info in, then boots to show me the desktop then freezes, i got on the net and most say it happened to them because of the nvidia graphic drivers, some recommend a driver that works with all cards, forgot what its called, 1 problem, my ideneb dvd doesn't have those drivers, it also doesn't have my chipset, I tried installing again with no video drivers, then it freezes while loading on the grey apple screen after install. I tried both cases many times my system: MoBo: GA-MA770-UD3 Procc: AMD Athlon 7750 Dual Core 2.70ghz Ram: 2 Gigs VC: Nvidia 7300 LE SC:Audigy Value 2 North Chipset: AMD 770 South Chipset: AMD SB700 Onboard Audio(I dont use):Realtek ALC888 Onboard Lan(i use): Realtek 8111C Running Sata Hard Drive, & Dvd Drive Ideneb 1.4 ( I believe whatever one has 10.5.6 or w/e its called lol sorry frusterated after 24 hours of trying) I selected the voodoo 9.5, with the seat belt patch the realtek drivers, i tried both inject and the other nvidia driver, I also tried a install with just the voodoo and seat belt, Is there a better distro I should be using that will have what I need, and work better with my amd system, with amd chipset? while I am a expert with pc's, Im not there with mac software, though this ordeal is helping me I searched googles for hours upon hours getting help from each link i selected, but I cant take it anymore and I am asking for help here, pretty sure most are sick of hearing help me, but I am asking very respectfully lol, please please help me I hate when i installed it for the first time when it worked, the desktop finally popped up, the little icon bar popped up on the bottom, and the top menu came to view, but stays see through as if its loading or something, and thats were my computer freezes with that. I am sure somebody has had this problem before its just hard to search for specific problems matching mine. I mean it has to be possible on this PC, if i can get the desktop loaded but then it just freezes, then i should be just doing something wrong, I am hoping another distro will be a answer, because technical stuff, like patching dvd's, or terminal stuff isn't my strong point, So sorry for the long post, and thank you in advanced Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179977-install-works-freezes-after-desktop-loads/ Share on other sites

I do ! Since your NOT INTEL, You will need to add ALOT of additions to the customization of the install. I dont do AMD anymore for many reasons.
