apple pie
Hi everyone, I'm looking to see if it's possible to install OS X 10.5.6 on my ASUS X83Vm-X2 laptop using a retail disk. I've been reading that people are accomplishing retail installs using chameleon/boot-132 to create a bootloader on a CD, USB flash drive, or on the "hidden partition". Forum user abhij has the same laptop and figured out how to install OS X using "iPC 10.5.6 ppf5". He's working on a full guide but here's how he did it in brief... ...go thru the topic on x83vb the topic on x83vb . it describes a way to install OSX on a very similar laptop with same motherboard.. use iPC instead of ideneb but i will just give u my steps in brief i downloaded iPC 10.5.6 ppf5 release (i have tried iaktos and iDeneb but video card doesn't seem to work with it in qe mode... this is the most IMPORTANT STEP) burned the dvd and booted with flags cpus=1 (the dvd wont boot otherwise) went thru the process of installing the dvd.. i selected video drivers --- nvdarwin 1gb (just that, i have heard it doesn't work with any other combination) chipset drivers as --- ich9/10 acpi fix shutdown restart fix battery power management pack also selected all the apps except the macfuse app basically the top three steps are most important then after install boot with flag cpus=1 (single core mode) to enable dual core support just download the dsdt.aml file from the post on x83vb and copy it to the root directory to enable both cores this way u don't need to put cpus=1 everytime you boot other way is by using a patched bios put this will disable ur sleep and hibernate on the windows machine for sound install voodoohda pack for wifi install a new compatible wifi card I'm a newb so all help and input greatly appreciated!
