Discostu2120
Now that I have Callisto working on my system with 1280x800 on my ati mobility 9700, the next step is getting working wireless. I realize there have been many threads on this, but I seem to be finding alot of conflicting info and people saying a card works when it is only partially supported. What is the most compatible mini pci wireless card available? I want something that detects without any sort of patching and will work with my hardware (mitac 8050 generic notebook). Right now the main choices are between the Gigabyte GN-WIAG02 using the Atheros AR5005 (i think) and the Dell Truemobile 1450 using the broadcom 4309. Both cards can be had for under $30 shipped, so price isn't a big deal here. What is the highest reccomended card out there? fireshark
Both. Broadcom was supported 0.01 release earliber but some people say atheros is way superior. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17884-wireless-choices/#findComment-116875 Share on other sites
Pukos
My Dell 802.11 a/b/g Mini PCI WiFi card with Broadcom BCM94309MP chipset work with any sort of patch. Just plugged. Great card! Jeezoflip
My Netgear WG311T works flawlessly, and with WEP. Just install it, and Mac automaticly thinks its an Airport extreme card.
