chrisynd
I know lots of folks out there have the Broadcom 59xx series ethernet chipset for Wired LAN. Including DELL Inspiron 1318 users. And I, like you, would like my ethernet to work on the 1318. Apparently, someone posted on the OSX86 Wiki for 10.5.8 Compatability that theirs is working with a driver from the latest iAtkos disc (V7/10.5.7). I do not know how to extract the drivers from the iAtkos disc to try to install. Anyone have a clue or can try this? http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...0.5.8/Portables Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178676-broadcom-59xx-working-claims-to-be-inspiron-1318-etc/ Share on other sites

nareshbhat
Hi, Thanks for the information, Yes, we know about this is under development. But our question is is there any body have any hacking mechanism to make it work? Of course I can help. But I don't have the development environment. (I assume xcode will be used). If anybody gives me the idea what are the necessary requirements to do this. I can develop this driver. Basically I am a device driver writer. -Naresh actually, there was a person who developed broadcom 5906 driver. check out 'tis page! the developer (named `wingrunr21`) is developing the driver LONELY. i think he/she needs help developing this driver. foofoo1081
Hey guys I found this link to an "experimental" kext for the broadcom 5906, I downloaded it already and it doesn't seem to work for me, however i noticed something odd-- after the mac os boots up, my dsl hub activity led actually turns off and on several times, but still nothing is detected I thought someone with enough knowledge could checkout this kext and see if he/she can patch it or something. here's the link: http://www.superhai.com/xdarwin.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178676-broadcom-59xx-working-claims-to-be-inspiron-1318-etc/#findComment-1290288 Share on other sites
Klaas1979
just would like to know if anybody made any progress with the driver? I did not find any kext, not even an experimental one. The driver project seems dead.
