I have some trouble, i have been using OSX for the last 5 months so i already have 4 harddrives. When i ordered a new motherboard today and was about to install a retailcopy of OSX i got stuck on having to use GUID Partition Table on the HDD. All my discs are MBR, and i would like to use this, but with a retail copy. So i found out that you can use OSInstall.mpkg that are modified for allowing MBR.

The problem is i can't burn a new disc and i havnt got any other Mac to do this on.

So can i in some way put the OSInstall.mpkg that's modified on a USB Memory and load it when i booted the retail DVD?

If so, how do i do?

And what OSInstall.mpkg should i use, i got 10.5.0 (please provide link)?

Thanks in advance!

Way Number One: in disk utility from the dvd reformat disk to guid.

Way Number Two: using terminal copy the folder /System/Tnstallation/Packages to the usb stick, then copy OSInstall.mpkg on the place of old one on teh stick, and type open osinstall.mpkg but unsure if it works.
