dred
I have the HOTiSO version of 10.4.6. I used macdrive 6 to format a 80gb hdd to hsf (both standard and + for a retry). The osx disc boots up fine, but I cannot get either the "installation destination" or the disk utility to see the desired drive. I tried to use suse 10.1 install cd to do the rescue step as described in step 4 of the install guide, but it is asking for a rescue password and I am unable to find in any documentation. Any help would be great, thank you. system info: amd optetron 165 asus a5n8x mobo evga 7900 gt oc 2gb ram Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17726-cannot-get-1046-to-recognize-my-desired-install-hdd/ Share on other sites

dred
one thing i was thinking; does the ide drive need to be set as primary for it to be seen by mac os x?
