iFreak
UUID 1 acronym for "Universal(ly) Unique Identifier" Originally a computer term: an address to identify and communicate with a single device on the Internet. Now used as slang contraction for 'way to reach you directly'. "Send me your UUID" means "send me a way to reach you directly". The typical response is an email address or phone number. Just use www.urbandictionary.com Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177170-solveduuid-error/#findComment-1212188 Share on other sites

Poco
@tsm1248: I want to say a few things: 1) Watch your language. There is no need to curse incomprehensibly. If you want people to be able to understand your problem and then help you, write so that other people can understand. Posting like that doesn't make you cool. 2) No one on these forums is required to help you. If you don't get a response right away, don't complain about it. What even worse is that you posted and complained about not having a response a mere hour after your original post. 3) Learn to find out the solution to the problem on your own. I just typed into Google UUID and guess what, the FIRST website that showed up had the answer. Further still why not enter the error/problem you are having into Google? I just put in "Waiting for boot volume with UUID" and guess what? I found some possible solutions of how other people had fixed it. iPoco Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177170-solveduuid-error/#findComment-1212401 Share on other sites

Is does not appear that your particular board works with a retail disk, so follow what they say closely. Also, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS LINK and look at all the info they have for the P5Q boards. Your answers will probablty be there. 3 things: if you are in google, type "site:insanelymac.com" without the quotes and whatever you are looking for immediately after. The search on this board does not work, but that method will at least allow you to search this board for answers. Second, universally people tend to have problems with IDE drives and OSX86 machines. You might need to get another SATA drive in order to get things going. Remember, its not about finding software to make what you have work, its about getting the most compatible hardware to emulate a real Mac. Third, if you have an IDE DVD burner, ditch it. Get a SATA burner instead. If you get to the point where you outgrow this equipment, that drive will work fine in any newer build too. It sounds like you will need to dig up a decent set if BIOS settings for your board too. I can't help as the only ASUS board I've ever used for a Hackintosh was the P5W which works flawlessly. Good Luck. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177170-solveduuid-error/#findComment-1212516 Share on other sites
