A happy little success story

Thanks to munky and his excellent guide ive successfully installed Leo Retail 10.5.6 onto a GA965P system.

ALC883 Audio

Nvidia 8800GT 512Mb Graphics with QE and CI on dual displays

 

and more importantly Final Cut Studio 2 (yes its legit... so is my Leo disc.. please buy your Apple software, its great!)

for all the 965p users, i understand menoob is also using 965p based hardware, although i recommend using munkys guide to get your EFI working, and menoobs guide as more of a rough instruction, as initially i couldnt get EFI to boot until i followed munkys install.

 

The only other thing ALC883 users may need is the apple HDA patcher : http://www.mediafire.com/?xpijo2m4pxm

these are both imperative to getting your audio working

 

QE and CI were enabled using EFI studio and editing the boot.plist file, no other kexts were needed as retail leo SUPPORTS nvidia hardware (well the 8800Gt anyway!) so check your graphics card out.
