rsilves
Hi. I've been getting panics frequently these last days. I moved the computer and am using the RTL8587L wireless card now instead of the ethernet cable. anyway I had used it before sometimes and it didn't cause any problem. I'd thank you if you can guide me with this, tell me where the problem seems to be. I don't know how to understand a kernel panic, so I'd be pleased if you can explain me how to, at least, have an idea of what's going on. rsilves
Again.... The first while running cron scripts (weekly in that moment) in OnyX. The second with VMWare fusion open with 1 virtual machine working (winxp), Was about to open a file with Photoshop (right click, open with, PANIC) Now I disabled the wireless card and connected via Ethernet. I hope the wireless card is not the problem, 'cause I can't keep it connected by cable. But I prefer that rather than a more complicated problem ^^ Rodrigo Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176707-kernel-panics-once-or-twice-a-day/#findComment-1209908 Share on other sites
Daveta
but you have the problem when installing the kext? or when? try seatbelt.kext (same version of your kernel) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176707-kernel-panics-once-or-twice-a-day/#findComment-1210179 Share on other sites
rsilves
but you have the problem when installing the kext? or when? try seatbelt.kext (same version of your kernel) I had a problem since I moved my computer and started to use the RTL8187L instead of Ethernet. It works, but a time after the computer is on, it gives kernel panic. So, I have the problem after a short time I start to use the wireless adapter (~15-45min). No panics since I went back to Ethernet (I turn off the adapter when system boots before doing anything). I have seatbelt.kext installed (I think I have it for FireWire problems). Any ideas?
