What happen to everyone who ask for a laptop recommendation?

I see a lot of topics popping up here. So, I'm just curious, what did you guys decided to buy? Most of the replies I see in the threads pointed to MacBook (why?) or the HCL (to be honest, not many of them are up-to-date with fixes and issues, usually posted in the first week of successful installation, and using distros).

 

So, what did you guys (the OP of those threads) decided to buy?

 

ps. this is just another way to framing the question i guess, but i'm more interested in answers of the ones who did the research, not Captain Obvious' answers.
