Even with lawsuit after lawsuit after lawsuit, Apple has turned in $8.34 billion (that's $8,340,000,000.00) in sales and a net profit of $1.23 billion ($1,230,000,000.00)! This results in earnings of $1.35 per share. This is a record quarter for Apple, breaking every previous record.

In terms of sales itself, Apple has sold 2.6 million (that's 2,600,000) Macs during this quarter, the majority of them laptops. 5.2 million (5,200,000) iPhones were sold. The bad news, however, is that iPod sales dropped by 7% to 10.2 million (10,200,000).

How are the stores faring? $1.5 billion in revenue ($1,500,000,000) which is up. 492,000 shiny new Macs were sold, the majority to first time Mac users. iTunes had its 8 billionth (8,000,000,000) song downloaded.

Next quarter looks like more of the same, with traditional iPod sales declining in favor of iPod Touch sales going up.
