koushiro
Hi, My USB keyboard and mouse(as well as a usb bluetooth adapter) do not load right away. When I first boot my machine and the specs are loading the keyboard and mouse load fine, but when they get to the darwing loading screen they are now off. When it gets to the OS X login info, they usb keyboard and mouse still do not work. However the internal USB devices I have (A USB card reader does have its light on, but it is actually on all the time). So eventually the keyboard and mouse come on. After about 2 minutes or so. Another issue, which may be part of it is that after I enter my login info, it wont go past the default desktop background and I have to restart it. Then the second time it loads 100% I have iPC 10.5.6 with kernel 9.4.0 When I use to have Kalyway I did not have this issue. I have checked the BIOS, all USB options are enabled (except for legacy support, which causes the system to freeze at the apple logo when it is enabled). Could that be part of the problem? I have disconnected memory, SATA drives, IDE drives. I really appreciate any help, i have lived with this issue for a while now. Thanks, Josh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175927-usb-external-devices-do-not-load-right-away/ Share on other sites

Giorgio_multi
Hi. Without USB legacy support mouse and keyboard are working ONLY for the BIOS startup fase. 2 solutions: 1) PS2 mouse and keyboard 2) PCI USB 2.0 card (that is not controlled by BIOS and works with USB legacy disabled). I have the same problem with Asrock G31-M GS. Yes, particularly Asrock motherboards with G31 chipset. koushiro
try to find if you have usb 2.0 installed or the old 1 How do I find that out? The motherboard does support 2.0 Hi. Giorgio I did try a ps2 keyboard, I get the same issue, I cant use the keyboard right away, just in Bios startup. IS this an issue with iPC and the motherboard, because it worked fine under kalyway?
