I intend to set up a dual boot with OS X 10.5.7 (retail install) and Vista x64 on a single 250GB HD. This will be a clean install for both. My plan is to install Vista on the first partition and OS X on the second partition, and use Chameleon 2 to dual boot between the two OSes. Now, I'm wondering should I set up the HD as a MBR or GUID? I thought I've read somewhere that Vista x64 is compatible with GUID, so I'm thinking that may be a better setup if that's possible.

Any additional opinions on this setup are also welcome :thumbsup_anim:

If you are using an un modified retail disk you only have one choice: GPT (GUID Partitioning Table). You can modify the retail disk to allow the installation to MBR and then burn it if you wanted. Vista x64 can installed to GPT disks.

I have a retail DVD, but I've made a copy to a USB drive for the install. I've already modified the Installer to allow it to install to MBR, so that will work if necessary. However, if Vista installs and works well on GPT disks, then I'll just use that for simplicity. Thanks.

I can't get my Vista 64 (Home Premium, SP1) to install to GPT... what's the trick?
