superchillar
Hi guys, im running an macosx installation on 10.5.6 now. I got all my stuff installed properly and also LAN and sound etc. is working fine. Beside this, i installed the .dmg crash fix and im pretty satisfied with the system for now. But to be honest, its way to slow to use it as my first choice working OS for the moment. My Hardware looks like: Asus MB with AMD 3000+ Athlon 64bit (SSE2), 512mb RAM, Geforce GT6600 Im wondering if the speed issues are coming from SSE2 or if its just too less RAM. Upgrading RAM wouldnt be the problem, but i wanted to ask if it makes sense at all or if even more RAM wont do the job because of SSE2. At the moment im not even able to play divx in fullscreen mode without having stutters.. thanks for any help chillar Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175550-reliable-speed-possible-with-sse2/ Share on other sites
josephien
upgrading ram would help a bit in your case, but because of sse2 only (so the system has to "emulate" sse3) it's going to be always a bit slow to run leopard, why don't you try 10.4.11 on your system, i have that running on an older lappie quite well (only trouble i have is the video is an older nvidia card so no acceleration but that should be no prob for you) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175550-reliable-speed-possible-with-sse2/#findComment-1204312 Share on other sites
