melee54
I just got my OSX86 install last night and everything is working great except audio. I've searched this board and google and haven't found a solution for my problem. I used Digital Dreamer's tutorial meant for the UD5 version of this board, and everything worked but audio. No devices were listed, so I tried a bunch of the fixes listed on this message board, but it seems they all died out once the 10.5.7 update hit. Someone suggested the VoodooHDA.kext, so I went to their site and installed it. Still, nothing was listed under preferences for output and input. I then uninstalled it and installed the VoodooHDA.kext that was included in Digital Dreamer's install script. This one gave me Digital, SPDIF, and front Headphone out, but no speaker out. I'm brand new to OSX. I'm sure it's probably an easy fix, such as "just uninstall so and so kext, which is interfering with Voodoo.", but I have no idea what it would be. Are there any audio kext's specifically for this board? I think it has the ALC888. Thanks! ryansimms
I then uninstalled it and installed the VoodooHDA.kext that was included in Digital Dreamer's install script. This one gave me Digital, SPDIF, and front Headphone out, but no speaker out. I know it's a little late, but hopefully this will still help. I used Digital Dreamer's guide on the same motherboard, and also tried the VoodooHDA that came with his script and it didn't work for me either. I downloaded the voodoohda which included the prefpane from voodooprojects.org and it worked for me. I'm not sure if the prefpane is necessary or if there's something screwy with the version that DD included with his script, but it's working for me, so I'm letting it be.
