I'm having trouble installing Leopard on my desktop. iPC 10.5.6 doesn't detect my SATA drives while in AHCI mode, whereas all's well in IDE mode.

The drives detect fine when booting Kalyway 10.5.2 in AHCI mode, and I'm able to complete the installation. iPC also detects my laptop HDD in AHCI mode.

My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, with an Intel ICH8 and 2 JMicron ports. No drives are plugged into the latter, but under Kalyway, the SATA drives show up under the Jmicron AHCI controller. In iPC, it shows up under unknown/unidentifed AHCI controller

How do I get iPC to detect the drive in AHCI mode?

I have a similar problem.

I'm currently on "iDneb 10.5.6" updated to "10.5.7" have no problem, but just out of curiosity decided to install the newest release from "iDneb". :P

When OS X asked where the destination folder(volume) was, there was no visible H/D.

On "Disk Utility" also, NO hard drive!

I had to stop installation manually. :)

I have a couple other distros, including "iATKOS 10.5.7" "iPC 10.5.6" and tried installing them, but

got the same result-NO H/D.

How can I get my hard drive detectable?

Thanks in advance.

My apology,

Well, I tried "iATKOS 10.5.7" couple minutes ago and turned out to be alright.

I don't know at this point, whether it's because faulty H/D or corrupted disk fille.

Cheers.
