Hey guys,

So, I downloaded the Jas 10.4.6 Install DVD (the whole 4.4 Gigs), and put it into my Asus W1N laptop with glee hoping for a smooth install, but it wasn't to be ;)

The install dvd hangs on bootup, just after some Error messages concering copyAirPortSCPrefsRef.

Also, the DVD which was being read feverishly until now, stops making noises (which I assume implies that the DVD isn't being read any more).

I'm trying to installing it on /dev/hda1 (the first partition). The other partitions contain Ubuntu Linux.

I'm attaching a picture of the screen

Somebody help please ?

Well I was able to solve the above problem after applying the ppf patches for the Jas 10.4.6 DVD from

http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/324181/

Now it installs fine, but weirdly enough it wiped out my linux partition !! Thankfully i had my home directory in a separate partition, so nothing important got removed.

Anyway, after installing.. and rebooting, the screen scrolls really fast.. with the os trying to open lots of kext files (running in -v doesn't matter either.. i always get that initially), and then reboots.

Anyone experienced that ? I'll try -x as well and let you know what happens.

Ok, some more progress. I finally got it installed correctly. On the first boot, I got a nice video, and some cool cube rotation effects while it asked me for my information. After that, every time it boots up. it brings up the screen which shows "initializing mac ( ? or something similar) with a blue bar" and from then on i just see the wallpaper and nothing else.

Pressing any keys, or clicking makes no difference. Help ?
