Hi community,

I am not just some leecher that benefits from this projects and gives nothing back, Ive written a guide on how to get my computer model working with Mac OS X Leopard and hoping the community can help me with this silly thing. Just give me a minute if you have any idea what the problem is.

The problem is that randomly when I shutdown the computer the computer does not shutdown. At a closer look in verbose mode it says something like:

...
...
killall...
cpu halted

As far as I can tell all the verbose messages are fine except for the last one, CPU halted. Then it just sits there at the point where it should have already shut off and I have to press the button to shut it off manually... This is getting annoying after a month.

Does anyone know what could be the problem? Here are my computer specs:

Intel GMA 950

Vanilla kernel

Ralink RT74 USB Wireless Adaptor

PS/2 keyboard

USB mouse

Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7.

4 drives (2 sata 2 on 1 ide cable) (2 are DVD roms 1 on sata 1 on ide) (Hope you understood that. :P)

Thanks for any suggestion or help, will try anything that will not damage my system.

Thanks! Appreciate it.

I have exactly the same issue.

The problem is not what happens during shutdown, ("CPU Halted" Means the Operating System has shutdown properly) The reason you're seeing it is that the Computer should have powered off, as this issue is a problem with the ACPI driver.
