Junkie333
Hi All As a new mac user , i bought a nice but old 17inch macbookpro with a 2.16Ghz Intel cpu. Anyway playing around and decided to try and dualboot it with windowsXP and it installed no problem. using bootcamp inside osx 10.5 ,but when i boot up it wont boot to anything other WindowsXP. So I decided to format the windows partition using the windowsXP install CD ,no problem worked ok. then when I went to restart the computer nothing at all exept this message saying . NO BOOT DEVICE PLEASE INSERT BOOT DISC AND PRESS ANY KEY so i put the XP CD in again and deleted all the HD So it is Unpartitioned space ,thinking ,now I can put Leopard disc in and do a clean install, but still it only reads the windows CD NO BOOT DEVICE PLEASE INSERT BOOT DISC AND PRESS ANY KEY. The catch is it will now only read windows disc not leopard DVD any ideas what I have done,? I Think its something to do with MBR now in my HD but dont know how to return it to macs boot table. Any advice would be much appreciated thanks. Fixed it thanks using (Driver geneius 2.1, trhankfully thanks ! aircool00
hold the option key when you boot, to boot back to the mac partition. that is if you didn't kill the whole drive and not just the windows partition. moridinbg
And if you have killed the entire drive hold down C, while booting with Leopard DVD. Holding down Option, while booting, allows you to choose boot partition (Leopard or Windows) And if you have killed the entire drive hold down C, while booting with Leopard DVD.
