I see a lot of talk about kernel extensions but I can't find any good info on where to get them and what im supposed to use to edit them.

Specifically, Im trying to get the integrated graphics on my 700m (intel 855) to work. I already have OSX installed but I can't find the appleintel830.kext file in my OSX install or the OSX DVD.

They live in the /System/Library/Extensions folder. Note the / starting the foldername denoting that System is in the root level folder

Remember also this is a unix system so it is case sensitive for filenames and paths.

The tab key is your friend when in the command line as it does name completion which can save a whole load of typing.
