jpipitone
I've finally been able to install 10.4.6 with the HOTiSO image, and I'm able to boot into MAc OS X - however, my Finder keeps quitting and relanching itself over and over again, apps will open. Also, after the OS X installation has finished, after it says "This computer will restart in 30 seconds" it attempts to restart but just hangs. Also, when I attempt to restart from Mac OS X, the machine also hangs at the blue screen with the progress circle. There was an option in the Mac OS X installer to install an option if you have an SSE2 or SSE3 processor - I chose SSE2 - could this be that I have an SSE3 processor?? Could it be becuase of Hyperthreading? I appreciate any help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17397-finder-keeps-quitting/ Share on other sites
free30
Try finding out what instructions your CPU uses. Check against list or try search for a systems info program. Try CPU Z at http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-133.zip If your setup right and you can run things like you say, install pastifist. Get hold of SemjaZaSecUpd003.dmg, which is the decripted finder files from the 2006.003 update(I think), your need it sooner or later anyway. Install it with pasifist and repair disk permissions. Might work. Try hackint0sh org for info. Free30 -----------------------------------------.
