efrasiyab
Hello, Yesterday I bought one of these new ultra slim aluminium keyboards for my pc. it works perfect both under vista (with a little tweaking via SharpKeys) and hackintosh (10.5.7) but the problem is, it doesn't work until any OS is loaded. this means that i cannot use boot manager, or cannot bring up bios screen. i searched a lot and it seems like mac mini's have the same problem as well but none of the suggestions concern pc users. there is a mention about a firmware update which is supposed to solve this issue along with sticky buttons but when i tried to install it, installer said that my keyboard is up to date anyway and doesnt need this update so it doesnt float my boat as well. long story short, is there anyone with the same problem? and more importantly is there anyone with a solution to this? thanks in advance, cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173740-aluminium-keyboard-and-boot-manager/ Share on other sites

efrasiyab
I have one too and i can use it every where, BIOS, DOS, Chameleon.... Try to enable USB keyboard support inside your bios. Bye thanks i'll try that but i've been using another USB keyboard before as well so if what you said was the problem, wouldn't that previous keyboard also malfunction during start up? enb14
I have exactly the same issue, I can't access BIOS but when the OS loads the keyboard works, is a BIOS fault, so try to update your motherboard with latest bios, if this doesn't works for you then you are stuck with a non working keyboard as me. efrasiyab
Are there any option about USB in BIOS? like USB legacy support. hello, before the bios update i don't remember seeing any specific usb options but now there are two. first one is enabling or disabling "USB" (apparently enables or disables usb ports) and the other is "Legacy USB" both of them are enabled.
