narwhals123
Ok, so I am kind of new to the whole osx86, but I've managed to learn a bit and I've got it perfectly running on my laptop(which is a HP Pavilion DV6701US) with iATKOS v7. But then, I tried installing it on my custom built computer, which i will list the hardware used lower in the post, and I would get stuck on the Apple loading screen and then a restriction sign would pop up. Now, I've read around, and a lot of people say it could be the chipset, but I've read posts that the person used the same one as mine. Any help with this would be nice My Setup: Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit Motherboard: Asus M4A78 Pro (I also use the onboard graphics card, since I mainly use this for producing music) Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Dual-Core Black Edition CPU Fan: Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro RAM: PNY 4GB DDR2 Wireless Card: GIGABYTE GN-WP01GS PCI Wireless Adapter Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar 500GB Interal SATA Hard Drive Chassis: 11-Bay ATX Window (500W PSU) If there is anything else that needs to be listed to help, then just message away. Thanks for any help in advance. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173582-custom-built-computer-and-os-x86/ Share on other sites

JPhantom
just got it installed on mine haven't experimented to ee about sound and whatnot but I have the ame procesor and motherboard as you. I used ideneb 1.5 to intall. the part that kept me working for a while was that we have a south bridge that we need to select a fix for, AppleATIATA it is called. i used qoopz as my kernel. I also installed on an ide drive but don't know if that is important. don't select the amd patch. that is why we chose qoopz. I think most of the rest of my choices were specific to my build. hope this helps you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173582-custom-built-computer-and-os-x86/#findComment-1211752 Share on other sites
