Guys I'm having a strange problem with my nforce ethernet card.I am using ideneb 10.5.5 and it worked fine for me since all the graphics and sound were detected. Now the prblm arises with the ethernet card i am using.

I found the nforce driver in this awesome community and installed the kext using the OSX86 tools. After system restart, the ethernet card was detected and i selected to manually configure the ip address values which i did.But after configuration is complete and after applying the changes.................it says that "The Network Cable is Unplugged"

How can that be ???? I did everything right and the ethernet card is also detected but it still says that the cable is unplugged.

Please help me out guys......................Thanks in advance. :(

Oh ya and i also tried out that solution to turn-off the system.........disconnect cables............connect them again.....then boot using Mac.But it didn't work.

Hey. I actually am having the same problem as you. I install iDeneb 10.5.6 with the forcedeth kext, and then it reads green.. but the internet doesnt work. I installed the nforce kext, and the same thing happened. Sometimes the system crashes after installing the nforce driver giving me a data underrun error during start up :-X. I tried manual input of the ip and dns, etc, but it didnt work either. Blah, I dont know what to do.

{censored} it man, no1 replies to anything i post either LOL. But I got mine to work. I went to my attic, and dug out an old comp with a realtec networking card, and it worked with no ethernet options selected on the installer. So I guess dig around if you have one or go get a $10 pci REALTEK card, I hear they are the only brand that work without kexts cuz mac has them? Try it, let me know if it works for you.
