  1. So... I've dug around and didn't find too much hope for my question, but here it goes. Can I connect the new thunderbolt cinema display to my pc laptop? What about a 2010 macbook pro? I read reviews saying it can be done connecting it to a pc through an adapter, but I have yet to find anything. Anyone have any info on this?

I successfully installed leopard on my 780i, with sound and graphics working, but it was unstable and crashed due to ram i think. Is snow leopard 100% stable on the 780i?

Thanks for the reply! I'm looking, I didnt see anything with sli capability, but still looking. I found this on amazon while looking, i find it amazing its possible to sell this: http://www.amazon.com/OSx86-Creating-Hacki...7916&sr=8-2 and I found that GA-EP45-UD3P would be the best, it has sli, firewire and everything. Too bad its discontinued on newegg, so my best bet is ebay or something

I know that leopard and 780i mother board didnt get along at all.. but is snow leopard any different? I'm strongly debating selling my mother board so I can put mac on my desktop, however if snow leopard is possible and stable on 780i, I wont sell it. Can anyone give me any information on this?

Hey guys.. Im going to buy a new mother board to replace my 780i so i can have a hackintosh. I had horrible luck with the 780i obviously, and am wondering if anyone could suggest a good mother board for a core 2 quad 9650 processor. I have 1066mhz ddr2 ram, 260 gtx nvidia 8950mb card, 300gb raptor drive, and a 1terabyte backup drive. I heard any gigabyte or intel board would do.. please give me some suggestions. Thanks, Mike

    snow leopard with 780i

Hey guys, my setup is: 3.0 Core2quad q9650 EVGA 780i mobo 4 gigs of ram 260GTX nvidia 895mb 300gb raptor drive (with win7 and the snow leopard destination) 1TB drive for files, winxp, 10.5.7 As i know, the 780i mobos are a pain in the butt when it comes to putting mac on it. So before i start going crazy, does anyone have any suggestions what guides to follow? Thanks, Mike

You need to use an ide dvd drive to boot the install disc. Sata willnot work, at least for me.

    usb 1.0?

Hey guys. Did anyone ever get usb 2.0 to work with an 780i mobo? I'm using iatkos v7. Please let me know.

Hmm, I will give it a try without selecting the dsdt. Im pretty sure it comes selected, so I just left it checked. OHR i have selected, and it doesnt fix my shut down/restart problem, where I click shut down, and it proceedes to do so, then the screens go black, but the power light and fans still go rotating. So who knows. Do you boot the dvd with "maxmem=2048"? Because unless I do that, iatkos will freeze during the installation. What is your ram problem? My ram is 1033 HMZ but it reads as 667mhz.

Ok so i found that one thing isnt working well. Usb 2.0 isnt working. Usb devices work, but the speed is very very slow. Anyone have a similar problem for a 780i or similar board? I have tried newer kexts for usb, but they didnt work.

    Iatkosv7 Success on 780i!

Ok guys, so this is for anyone with similar hardware as me, who comes accross this via google or this site trying to find a solution. My hardware is as follows: Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHZ 780i EVGA nforce Mother Board NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 896MB Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB HD OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 SIGMA SHARK SP-635 635W APEVIA X-SUPRA G-Type Blue Case Realtek lan card (PCI) Ive tried many installers. Kalyway 10.5.2 installs, so does ideneb 10.5.5 and 10.5.6, but they become unstable when transfering files. Leo4allv5 works like a charm, downside, its server, and is 10.5.4, and I cannot install the graphics that way, so that wouldnt do. SO, I installed iatkos v7 with the following options: Bootloader: -Chameleon v2 X86 Patches -/Extra directory -DSDT Decrypters -AppleDecrypt Kernel -9.7.0 Kernel Voodoo ACPI -x86 ACPI -Disabler Drivers: System: SATA/IDE -nForce SATA/IDE Sound -Azalia Audio Driver Post-Install Actions I did not install graphics through the installer as I couldnt figure out which enabler to use. So after installation, I installed: -gt200_drivers_pkg 00-13-49.pkg -Enabler_for_Nvidia_and_multiple_ATI_cards.pkg And then graphics work fine as well. The os is completely stable, the only problem is the ram does not appear correctly, but who knows. My external hard drives boot up fine, and even my firewire external hard drive works flawlessly. The system does not freeze while transfering files. Shut down/restart does not work, i have to press the button, but a small price to pay for a fully working mac osx on my rig. Check out the screen shot for graphics information. Anyway, comment if this helped you in anyway, or feel free to ask questions. -Mike
