hey guys,

i've previously used the very same disc to install hackintosh on my laptop, but for some reason when i tried using it with my home pc, it refuses to work. i've tried burning the iso again and trying, still the same result.

the cd boots at first, and i pick verbose mode (or any other mode) and about 20 lines come out after which the computer restarts immediately. it's basically within a span of one second, so i can't really read what the screen says.

has anyone had this problem before?

my guess is it's BIOS settings but i'm not sure.

I have the Same problem and have been searching for days now

My Specs:

Gateway FX6800

ATI Radeon HD 4800

Intel i7 Prosseser

Sorry for not giving specs guys!

Thought this might be a general error.

I'm using a MSI P45 Neo motherboard, kinda old. Disabling IOAPIC got me started on the setup. Thanks for that!

Another thread said that iAtkos release didn't work and I should try iPC.

The sad thing is that though now it doesn't reboot, but I get the well known "still waiting for root device" error.

[edit] this is a PC not a laptop. Hoping to setup everything onboard for the motherboard, video card is GTS 250.

Sorry to addon to this thread, but I figured it's better than posting a new one.

The white apple screen appears and then the system asks me to restart the computer by holding the power button. In verbose mode the last line is the kernel being used. Does this mean that I need to use a different release?

Don't panic you're almost there

What you have is a Kernel panic

You need about 5 kext

I'm not near my Hackintosh right now

but as I recall you need the ACPI kexts

from a 10.4 Tiger install

I think I found them on this site.

put them on a thumb drive and boot from your install disk

copy them to your Extensions folder

do the chmod routine

reboot -v -f

hope for the best
