Hey guys,

I've been running leopard on my machine for a VERY long time now.

I started with 10.5.2, and soon after switch to LS8's method and have had 10.5.5 installed for 5-6 months now.

Last night I decided to try LS8's v17 with 10.5.7 and Chameleon. Everything worked great, with the exception of my video card.

In all previous versions of leopard, all I had to do was copy the com.boot.apple.something to the Library->preferences->system configuration folder and repair permissions and reboot.

With 10.5.7 this does not work at all. Neither does NVInject.

Anyone have any ideas?

Also, what is Chameleon? I mean... i get the bootloader screen... is that all it is? do i HAVE to install it? I never had to with 10.5.5

thanks for any help/tips.

My machine specs are:

GA-EP35-DS4 (latest bios)

PNY 8800GT

4GB Crucial ballistix

Q6600 CPU

A 4x500GB WD drives

Alright... so I did some more searching and found that Chameleon is just a boot loader.

I like I currently have my setup. I believe LS8's method automatically install PCEFI V8 with the ./pre-patch.sh script.

I think I need PCEFI V9 to run 10.5.7, but not sure how to go about getting it on my drive. I have my running Mac, and trying to install 10.5.7 onto an external hard drive, which I will replace with the one containing 10.5.5 after install.

Thanks for any help

edit: reason I want to try it with PCEFI, is because I think Chameleon is causing me video problems.. I dunno though.
