Muki Key Oot
Motherboard : Intel D945GCL OSx86 Install : iPC 10.5.6 10.5.7 Update Method: Apple's DMG + Kernel Backup + /Extra folder, as outlined by Netkas: http://netkas.org/?p=100 So my Radeon 4850 works fine (VGA monitor with widescreen res and all) and my USB sound works better after switching to 10.5.7 (less scratchy), but it seems that USB hotplug is a no-go and my ethernet card ceases to exist more often than not. I replaced the IOUSB* kexts and re-installed my AppleIntel8255x.kext while fixing permissions and removing Extensions.mkext, but every time I reboot, my ethernet is listed as "Cable Unplugged" and I have to re-install the kext, and my USB hasn't worked since the 10.5.7 update. Is there a known issue I don't know about regarding certain kexts in 10.5.7? TechWiz
USB hot plug issue is usually from mismatched kernel and system.kext versions Reinstalling the kernel from the package should solve this issue because they usually ship with a matching system.kext I'm not sure what the ethernet issue is but it seems to be an incompatible kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173045-usbethernet-trouble-after-1057-update/#findComment-1189611 Share on other sites
Khan_Man
I'm having a lot of trouble with my pro 100/ve on my d945gcl to. ID=1094 I've tried vanilla, modded vanilla (with dev id), I've tried with 855x kext in root of S/L/E and buried in the IOnetworking kext. I've tried iPCs and some others' kext from around the site and in the Extra/Extensions/ folder. Flaky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it works if I start with -f.... so many things. I've tried DSDT and strings.... Thank goodness my Kalyway still works. by the way I'm working on a retail install with Chameleon. Khan [edit] I think I've found a solution. Turns out that the AppleHPET.kext was interfering with the network driver. I ended up moving my modded (device ID) IONetworkingFamily into the /Extra/Extensions/ ******and removing/renaming the AppleHPET.kext from S/L/E ******* Check out: http://sites.google.com/site/osx86guides/H...work-connection [/edit] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173045-usbethernet-trouble-after-1057-update/#findComment-1200553 Share on other sites
