Dixie_F Posted June 30, 2009 Share Posted June 30, 2009 ASUS P5KPL-CM CORE 2 DUO E8400 3.0G (1333Mhz) SEAGATE Barracuda 1.5tb Hard Drive Creative Labs X-FI gamer ATI Radeon 3450 So I have 3 distro's. I have yet to try the third. But my results are confusing. Any advice is apreciated IATKOS 10.5.7 burns, verifies, MD5s and does a self verify before installing. All pass. However it hangs about 20% into install (while copying files). It just sits there and the DVD stops spinning. (USB DVDROM) IPC 10.5.6 installs fine then reboots with hard disk EBIOS read errors. I did wait it out and got to the bootloader 15min and then waited another 15min before deciding to change a ton of bios settings for HD related stuff and do a reinstall. Same results. If I actually get into the OSX I wonder if I can fix the EBIOS errors or not. 30min to boot is too long. Both installs have been done repeatedly with different and minimalist selections. I'll try the 10.5.5 next. do you have it working yet? ihave the same mobo from what i know onboard video won't work atleast with me so i have geforce 9500gt 512mb card. on firsst boot i used iatkos 10.5.7 boot cpus=1 to get install disc to work then i got to install screen used disk utlil to partition 1 guid then exitted and chose my hdd at the disk install customize i chose 9.7 kernel boot loader doesn't matter then i used azalia audio and other for my setup basic should just be kernel and bootloader but as i said onboard vid won't work so u should get a vid card after that everything should work unless u have a bad distro disk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/172943-asus-p5kpl-cm-problems/#findComment-1233991 Share on other sites More sharing options...
