Hello everybody,

I need some help regarding dual booting...

I have one hard disk, split into two partitions. On first partition I had my windows (vista x64) and the second was empty.

I installed iAtkos v7 (which works perfectly) by selecting disk utility and formating second partition (I didn't do anything in my Windows - later, by following some dual boot guides, I found out that was a mistake).

So, now my iAtkos v7 is working fine. If i press F8 just before it boots it prompts me with a 'dialog' where I can see:

Windows iAtkos Windows

Yes, there are two windows icons (or no icons, I forgot) BUT neither of them is working.

That's not big problem because I wanted to install Windows 7 OVER that windows (vista) - I want to format the whole first partition and install Windows 7 BUT I REALLY, REALLY don't want to mess up my iAtkos.

Can someone please give STEP BY STEP guide or point me to some guide that specifically explains THIS situation.

Thanks

its hard to get help in this forums , i was having the same problem you have so i will help you

you install the last chameleon right? (chameloen v2) that was a mistake , only chameloen v1 works good with 2 partitions in the same hard disk i think

let me see if i understand , you can boot in osx but you cant in windows partition (you have some error like "missing boot files in c:\windows"

first you have to have vista dvd , boot with him and select "restore" then in next reboot you will boot in windows vista

now install one aplication called EASYBCD in windows vista , this tool will make you a boot menu for all your partitions (windows , linux , osx)

you need to install windows 7 ? no problem after install windows 7 use again EASYBCD to make new boot entries

if you need more help send me a pm

i dont think you can boot with chameleon v2... im not sure but you can try... (i heard more people complaining about chameleon v2, is beta not the final version, this must be a bug or something)

in my case i restored the vista boot with vista dvd , then install iAtkos v7 again with chameleon v1 (but iAtkos v7 have restore so you can install just what you need, in this case you choose just install chameleon v1 and unselect all other install options, read the iAtkos v7 readme for more information)

with chameleon v1 you dont need easybcd anymore all menu entries will work good
