First, I have Vista installed on my laptop. The laptop didn't come with a reinstall DVD. Anyway to duel boot without the DVD for vista? (Laptop's a TOSHIBA Satellite L305D-S5934)

Second, How do I find out what Kexts I need? I don't want to be a total noob and say "Find them for me please", But I don't fully understand how to find them, can someone explain it to me, please

That's all that has been stopping me from installing OSx86 for a LONG time now. If I get answers I'll love you :) .

But yeah, thanks guys, awesome website ;)

1) You can shrink your vista drive, make a partition out of the free space for OS X, then install OS X on the 2nd partition w/o losing your vista partition

Before your next question I'm just letting you know that .kexts are kernel extensions and they can do a whole bunch of stuff, from being drivers to enabling other kexts from launching

2) Your second question depends on whether you want to boot retail (boot-132) or if you are using a distro (e.g. iPC); however, you will at least need AppleDrcrypt.kext, Disabler.kext (unless you are running the voodoo kernel or patched dsdt), and your chipset driver (depends on your motherboard). Most distro's install the first 2 kexts on every install and will let you choose the appropriate chipset driver in the customization screen. If you plan to make a boot-132 cd you would need to incorporate AT LEAST these three kexts into the cd (Search more about boot-132 to figure out how).

After that you can find more kexts to get your sound, graphics, and network all fully supported. (Google is your friend...use it to help you find what you need)

Lastly, this all may seem to be over your head but with research, troubleshooting, and PATIENCE this will all be clear

Nah man. I understood you (Thank god, lol)

Thanks a whole lot, I knew the first part, but I thought maybe vista would be corrupt or something after installing.

Okay, so with that answered, I must say thank you. No idea how much that helped/reassured. Any way to give you some feed back? (Rep karma anything like that?) also, thanks for the quick reply, wasn't expecting an answer that fast.
