jamesah
Hey guys. I don't post much but I read a lot and right now i've come across a slight issue that I can't solve. I have been running a vanilla 10.5.6 system flawlessly for a few months now and today I decided to try the 10.5.7 update. I didn't anticipate it messing anything up but of course, it has. When I go to boot my system from the pre-built boot disc I downloaded- if I boot it normally, the computer will crash at the apple. If I boot under the -x flag, safe mode works but I do not have audio. What can I do to make my system boot again? I suspect something in the update is conflicting with something that loads from my boot disc. I have a Gigabyte EP35-DS3R motherboard and I am using THIS 132-style boot disc. Help with this is greatly appreciated! P.S. I have one more somewhat unrelated question. How would I go about adding an EFI String to my bootable cd? I know how to get the string I just don't know where to put it.
