nawcom
hi all , i just wondering can we use boot camp in macintosh osx retail when we use boot-132 in a PC ?? as i know we can't do it in patch copy of mac osx 86 it will be gr8 if we can ... thanks Please do some research and learn what "BootCamp" actually is. It's an EFI module in Macs designed to satisfy Windows XP's legacy BIOS requirements + some frontend utilities to make installing easier to setup. It doesn't make much sense to want it anyway, does it? You have a computer that is Windows compatible, bios-wise. You don't have real EFI firmware in your computer. Davirus
thanks nawcom sorry i didn't explain my point correctly !! when i have mac os x86 AND i want to run "windows XP" partition using BootCamp in VMware .... when i did that all my HDD "1st P is mac 2nd P is win" will be destroy ?!?!?! (windows partition destroy) and i don't want to make virtual HDD in VMware to run windows xp that all .. I can actually understand everything you said, its just that the mostly people around here a bunch of idiots-arrogants who think they know everything, just ignore them. All I can say its that it "could be" possible but its pointless to use since you actually have a PC, if you already have OSX in your PC and want to install windows after the original mac os installation... well... I dont know if there is an alternative aside of install everything again (installing windows first of course). In resume: Which a LOT of effort it can be possible but you don`t need it, or how people around here say "Just buy a Mac if you want "all" the features" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/172597-can-i-use-boot-camp-in-retail-mac-using-boot-132/#findComment-1187331 Share on other sites

surban
Hallo, I have the same Problem I think, On my Laptop(Dell XPS1330) I have 2 Partitions. First my pimary System OSX and second XP. I Installed Parallels and it works fine with virtual Harddisks. BUT: How can I boot the real Partition in Parallels ? It created a BootCamp Virtual Machine but this doesn't work. Can anybody help me with this ? It is much better to have only 1 XP real/virtual and not 2 XPs, 1x Real and 1x Virtual. Thank You Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/172597-can-i-use-boot-camp-in-retail-mac-using-boot-132/#findComment-1188262 Share on other sites
