greggh Posted May 12, 2006 Share Posted May 12, 2006 I have a new laptop, got the jas 10.4.6 dvd to install. Everything went fine there. No sound and no networking, but I knew that going into it. My DVD drive does not show up, doesnt auto-mount, and isnt listed in the system info. Any ideas on how I can get it working? Its an ATI RX 480M motherboard, based on the ATI 400SB chipset. Layer3 Posted May 14, 2006 Share Posted May 14, 2006 it sucks that nobody gave you a reply. Im guessing that your chipset isent supported. Try taping F12 in OSx and to see if it oppens up. greggh Posted May 15, 2006 Author Share Posted May 15, 2006 Well I got my DVD working. At first (to answer layer3) it didnt show up at all, anywhere. This is where I think it gets strange. After I edited the kext for my sound card (ati sb450 hd audio, its the azalia driver) the dvd drive shows up. So I fixed my sound card and my dvd drive all in one. The drive works great now.
