1. Since I have it working on the other boot loader right now, is it worth the risk of switching to Clover and having things not work?
2. Got it working. Sound, Graphics, Networking, everything is great. Had to switch out the AMD R7's for the 6770's, but other than that all is well. Here are all the files I needed to make it happen, no tricky DSDT work or anything. I just used someones special tool to put the Yosemite installer onto a USB for me, then after the install I used that same persons other tool to install my boot loader and some options and kexts. After that I used the files attached here and everything was working. I got these files from these threads/links: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298663-applehda-for-yosemite/ http://www.hackintoshosx.com/files/file/4267-radeon-hd6770-with-full-qeci-for-yosemite-final-release/ http://www.hackintoshosx.com/files/file/4232-realtek-rtl81118168-kext/ I've got them all zipped up here for anyone who doesn't want to find them there. asus-p6t-ati-6770-alc888.zip
3. Just wondering if anyone sees any major red flags in this hardware list: CPU: Intel Core i7 920 RAM: 12GB DDR3 Motherboard: Asus P6T (LGA1366) Graphics: Dual AMD Radeon R7 200 Series (XFX) Network: Realtek Gigabit (8168) Audio: Realtek ALC888 On the graphics card I do have an ATI Radeon 6770 sitting off to the side that I could use if the 2 R7s I have are a problem. I figured that I could just use ##### and then ##### to get this done. Thoughts? Suggestions?
4. Yeah. I have an AMD setup. I tried the AppleSMBIOS fix, that didnt do the trick either. One of these days it will get figured out. I hope its sooner rather than later though ps: thanks again for all the help.
5. Ok, I got ahold of them and it didnt work. I removed all the ATI* files/directories/kexts in /System/Library/Extensions and moved in the 10.4.8 and 10.4.7 as littlepr said. Then I fixed permissions and rebooted. It wouldnt load up. So I put back the 10.4.9 files and rebooted, back to where I was. I think it might be my monitor? My built in LCD. I know the EDID of it. Where would I put that if I am not using np_'s LaptopDisplay kext? or should I be using his kext?
6. I dont have those. Any chance you could zip up what needs to be replaced and send it to me?
7. I read through the whole thread, doing just about everything in it that applied to me. I read pretty far ahead to make sure things hadnt changed before doing anything. I think I gave it a pretty good effort. Everything looks great, just wish I could change resolution. Nothing on any of those threads or the ones I have searched out seems to get it going for me, and csreen has no effect. Any help would be much appriciated. I have a 15.4 inch screen on a pretty custom laptop. It has a 71c5 device id (ati x1600 with 256 megs of ram). Its vendor is of course 1002. The device + vendor string does appear in the ati kexts that came stock with my 10.4.9 setup. This setup is based on the JaS image up on the demon. The latest 10.4.8 with the AMD kernel. I did myzars 10.4.9 upgrade and it worked great. I also applied the sec upd 07-04. It is as up to date as it possibly can be. I have tried everything I could find to get the resolution to change. I am completely stumped. So any help would be greatly appriciated.
8. I appriciate the try, but I already tried all of that too. It didnt help. Cscreen didnt do anything either. I am still stumped.
9. bump, yes im a jackass. I just really hope someone has a solution.
10. I had the exact same problem as you on the exact same hardware. Here is what I did to get it working. I reinstalled with the same DVD you have, but I made sure that I DID NOT check off either of the ati drivers (agp or pcie.) Leaving it just to use the native drivers. On that install it worked fine. I then used NatitX and it worked great.
11. I cant change my resolution from 1024x768. It just wont change. I have searched the forums and the web. I have tried boris's fix and currently have 32bit color, CI and QE working fine. My card is an ATI x1600 256meg pci-express card. It is built into my laptop. I have put my desired resolution in my com.apple.Boot.plist and it just seems to get ignored. So I have CI and QE working. DVD's play fine. Everything seems to be good. I still cant change resolutions... Any ideas?
12. I have a custom built laptop (from cyberpowerinc.com.) Its amd turion64 and an ATI IXP setup, SB450 to be exact. The audio shows up as ATI HD in my various bootable "pc info" tools. Its vendor id is 1002 and device id is 437b. The 0x437b1002 string is in the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext's Info.plist. So why isnt it loading up and working? Any ideas? ps: This is a very fresh install. Just installed 10.4.8 yesterday from the JaS 10.4.8+PPF1+PPF2 iso. I also did the myzar update to 10.4.9 and it went flawless. I have the ATI ATA Drivers that I found on this forum and they work great, HDD is fast as can be. My video card shows up fine, ati 256meg x1600pro (ive got qe and all that.) EDIT: Strange enough after 2 more reboots sound is working great now. One thing I notice though, in System Profiler it says no built-in sound. Yet iTunes is playing my mp3's just fine?

JAS 10.4.7 install dvd

My laptop has a SB450 and im in 10.4.6 just fine. I am going to reinstall with 10.4.7 tomorrow. Nothing wrong with running osx on an ati motherboard. Works great. I have sound and wireless. My ati x1600 works great too.

JAS 10.4.7 install dvd

With 10.4.6 JaS I had real problems doing software updates with apples built in updater. With Myzar's goatsecx disc it worked great (but I have really f***ed it up on my own since, so I need to reinstall.) So, with that said, will this one update fine using the software update tool? I dont mean to 10.4.8 whenever it comes out, but things like quicktime and itunes...
