joesnose
Hello, sorry if this has been answered already, i can't find an answer. I have my laptop triple booting, osX, xp and Ubuntu. This is my question when chameleon 2 boot loader starts it counts down and auto boots osX, i would like to get rid of the count down and just have it show my installed os's. Is this possible? and if so how do i remove the autoboot? Thanks. Beerkex'd
The answer is in the documentation. Unfortunately the docs are missing from the installer package that most people use. Add Instant Menu = Yes to /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist and remove the timeout key if it's there. Download the Chameleon 2.0 RC1 binary package - it comes with documentation. joesnose
Thanks for the response, should i have an extra folder in my root directory? I am new to mac but usually use linux, if i look in my mac drive from finder i see no extra folder. I will download the binary package , thanks for the info. Edit: does anyone have a link to the binary file, the link is dead on the chameleon blog. Also i would like to add i installed the chameleon from iATKOS v7 and chose the extra folder option, but i do not know where this extra folder is. Press shift-cmd-g or click Go - Go to Folder in the Finder menu, and then write /Extra in the window that appears. Voila, you're in the extra folder! If you set the Timeout to 0 (Zero) in your com.apple.Boot.plist (in /Extra) then Chameleon will wait til you pick an entry yourself Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/172179-can-i-stop-chameleon-2-auto-booting/#findComment-1192419 Share on other sites
krzee
What about the link, does it work for you now? Your link works for me, the link on the site does not. your link uses /27/ inside of it, the link from their site uses /23/ Thank you for the link I hated not having access to the docs! Methanoid
err I have an /Extra folder but with no com.apple.Boot.plist file in there.... I tried updating from RC1 to RC2 but it said install failed - something about needing to run Post Processing script. I was running the Cham 2 PKG installer and installed OSX from iAtkos on a MBR partitioned disk. I'm confused. Just trying to get my XP partition to show when booting Chameleon2 - and then investigate if possible to change the default OS - I suspect it will need to be XP for the rest of the family Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/172179-can-i-stop-chameleon-2-auto-booting/#findComment-1255488 Share on other sites
