autoy
I was looking around for some movie player that automatically displays subtitles (VLC is annoying for this purpose) and found a great free app (donationware) which just about does that http://www.sansworks.com/ Movie Time works great (although only full screen) and automatically displays subs that have the same name as the movie. As it is based on quicktime, you'll need the divx codec installed first. Don't forget checking the preferences moving the mouse to the top of the movie screen. Here you may need to change the encoding format of subtitles. I had to do so for Western European Windows encoding in order to display properly. Enjoy!
