Heres the info:

I have a real mac hard drive, just removed from my imac. I upgraded my hd, and did not back up anything, since I have macdrive on my pc. Now my imac is up and running nicely with its 200g drive, and I have this 80g just sitting here, now that I have copied all that I need from it.

Now the question:

Can I use this drive to boot an install? Maybe just installing the darwin or something?? Patch the kexts? It has a real install on it.

Edit: Updated Sig instead of posting here.

Disks 3 - 6 are removable or Dvd

Obviously, M: is my mac drive, and is attached via sata to usb dock.

If not, could someone direct me to (a) site(s) with help for my specific hardware?

The reason I want this is that I have an older iMac that I upgraded the ram and hd in, but its just too slow for my needs, this pc would be much better suited to my ilife programs. I've long since lost my other leo installation.

Thanks for your time!

If your hardware can use vanilla kernel you should be able to boot from it, I don't see why not.

Plug it in and use a Boot-132 or Chameleon 2.0 boot CD to boot it.

oh, you're on AMD hardware, that complicates things a bit. But it's possible.

You need to place the Voodoo kernel at root of the drive and make a boot CD that works with your hardware.

It would be a lot easier if you had an already existing Hackintosh installation on the same PC to work from.

Or an Intel Core-based processor.

With leopard it's possible. Since your on AMD hardware follow this guide to make an AMD boot-132 cd. From then you can put it in and boot your 10.5.6 installation then install the kexts you need and install chameleon.

Question for anyone. Can you make a boot-132 cd that works on 10.4?
