Sk0rp
Hello I managed to install the system from the iAktos i5 10.5.6 DVD. Then I installed the drivers for my ATI 4870 from Netkas. After that I've updated my system to 10.5.7 via Apples Software Update. This is where I am now: Leopard 10.5.7 Powercolor 4870 512MB, System-Profiler said: ATI Radeon HD 4800 QE: supported CI: hw-supported QuartzGL: supported MB is a GA-P45-DS3LR with C2D E8500. The System is working fine, but when I start an 3D-Game like World of Goo or Sims3 my display switches to standby-mode. I don't know how to quit the applications, so I have to restart the machine each time I try. Can someone help me? Thank you in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171616-black-screen-when-starting-3d-games/ Share on other sites

But it some how only affects some people. What is your current resolution set at? Try to change resolutions, and see if that problem occurs. If it does then i can help you.. if you're able to change resolutions without this problem occuring.. then umm i can't help you lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171616-black-screen-when-starting-3d-games/#findComment-1186045 Share on other sites
Wils
I had the same problem before. It is because of the driver injector you are using for your video card. When you run those games, it usually change your screen resolution causing black screen. try different injector.
