sowfsyde
Built a box based on a Giga EP45-UD3R with a Intel 8400, 4GB RAM and a couple of TB of disk. It works fine, lasts a long time. I went the IPC osx86 Universal 10.5.5 route without issue. Fat, dumb and happy, until I upgraded iTunes. I trashed my install. I then decided to take a more aggressive stance and I used the Mac OS 10.5.6 install disk method of installation using grub-dfe as a boot disk. I was able to install the OS with no issue, download and install updates from Apple and reboot just fine using grub. Upgraded video and audio too. My problem is this, I've had no luck installing Chameleon_1.0.11_installer.dmg or Chameleon_DFE_for_Hard_Disk. If I do, the system boots, I get disk activity, the Apple logo appears and the status wheel starts turning and then I get a message on the screen indicating I need to power down or hit the reset button. It never fails. It's gone. Does anyone have any recommendations as what I should be using for a disk loader or what I'm doing wrong on the installation? abhi93
What you're getting is most possible a kernel panic. Boot with -v, it should indicate what is causing the error. Also, have u tried Chameleon 2.0? It works flawlessly and has a lot of customisation. Hope this helps.
