bluepigfx
I've tried several distros including Kalyway 10.5.2 and 10.5.1, iDeneb 10.5.5, iAtkos 2.0, etc and I've been plagued with the common "Still Waiting For Root Device" error message upon each install. What I would really like to do is install a retail version of Leopard using the Boot 132 method, but I get the "Still Waiting For Root Device" error. Here are my PC specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Intel DG33TL Motherboard 2GB OCZ Platinum Rev. 2 RAM Evga GeForce 9600GT Sony NEC IDE DVD/CD R/RW drive Maxtor 160GB IDE HDD I've played around with master/slave configurations with no luck, but I learned that some managed to get past this error with a similar configuration using an external USB DVD drive. Will that do the trick? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171361-still-waiting-for-root-device-help/ Share on other sites
gazepo
Is the error coming: 1) when trying to install or 2) after a successful installation when the system restarts. For 1 make sure to set AHCI mode for your sata in bios. You dvd was burned at x2 or at least x4. Your Sata HDD is on the first sata on mo/bo. For 2 make sure you have selected to install the right chipset driver.
