totentanz
I'm using an Intel X25-E 64GB for my boot drive, and was wondering how I should partition it to dual boot OS X and Windows 7. The only programs I'll be using in OS X are in Final Cut Studio. How much space will OS X + FCS take up? How should I partition the drive? Scottapotamas
OSX uses around 12 GB for me at install. I don't know how much final cut uses but the site says " Available Disk Space * 4GB of disk space required to install all applications (Final Cut Pro, Color, DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Motion, Cinema Tools, LiveType, Compressor, and Apple Qmaster) * Additional 55GB required to install all optional templates, content, and tutorials (may be installed on separate disks): o 9GB for DVD Studio Pro content o 8GB for Motion templates and tutorial media o 24GB for Soundtrack Pro audio content o 12GB for LiveFonts and LiveType animated elements and templates o 2GB for Apple Pro Training Final Cut Studio Tutorials media " Thats a lot of space... Then you will need more room to store the temporary saves, etc... I have fit Windows 7 RC 7100 Ultimate onto a 10GB HD with some to spare... Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/170908-dual-boot-osx-windows-7-how-much-space-reqd-for-each/#findComment-1178749 Share on other sites
